Role of parents in the educational process of children with hearing impairment

Parents play a very important role in the educational process of children with hearing impairment. Parents have a heavy responsibility to seek and implement the guidelines of all the experts involved in the child’s rehabilitation, including doctors, therapists, and teachers. Let’s have a look at it:

  • Take the child for expert examination / treatment / therapy on time.
  • Maintain records / information related to the child.
  • Provide assistive devices (e.g., hearing aids) tailored to the child’s special needs.
  • Provide the expert with the necessary information/documents to identify the child.
  • Suspect resolution should only be performed by specially trained professionals.
