Spinal Dysraphism- a term including various spinal deformities occuring during the embryo stage of a human being- was the area of discussion of previous NIDAS held on 21st July 2018. The session was held by Dr. Nitha J, Asst. Professor of SCTIMST.
An individual affected by spinal dysraphism carries its different manifestations all through his/her life. Hence their rehabilitation is a topic of serious concern. Dr. Nitha explained the topic in detail, with the list of hospitals providing treatment and surgeries and also the Government provisions and schemes for the affected.
The NIDAS webinar creates awareness among people especially parents and caregivers of the individuals with disability, and thus provides a platform to share their concerns and clear doubts. For more than two years, NIDAS has been successful in creating awareness regarding various aspects of disability and associated issues.
