It is essential that the hearing impaired, their parents, and the general public be made aware of the benefits of sign language along with spoken / written language. By imparting knowledge about sign language to a deaf child from the very beginning, they are promoting their ability to communicate effectively at any stage of life. Therefore the development of spoken / written language and the use of sign language should take place in parallel.
The NIDAS webinar creates awareness among people especially parents and caregivers of the individuals with disability, and thus provides a platform to share their concerns and clear doubts. For more than two years, NIDAS has been successful in creating awareness regarding various aspects of disability and associated issues.
